Our Process
We are process people. We like to know everything we can about your assay goals and the molecules we work with.
We carry out the build by going through a five step process including a brief discussion of the project and its aims, an in-depth analysis of the science and analytical steps, and a contract. We’ll provide a Master Service Agreement and Statements of Work so we can jointly finalize the deliverables and decide upon a followup to meet your timeline.
How We Work with You
1. Pre-Consultation
We suggest that we enter into a Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement that will allow us to discuss your project without restriction. Please ask for our NDA or send a copy of yours to Info@21GramsAssays.com. We suggest you process this through your technology transfer office or legal departments.
2. Initial Discussion
We appreciate receiving and reviewing any scientific information you may have on the molecule(s) of interest. After review we will set up a phone call or Zoom online consultation, allowing us to understand your goals and give you a preliminary budget.
3. Contract
With you — and your legal and business experts — we will develop a contract schedule Master Service Agreement (MSA) which will outline all of the aspects of how we will work together. After the MSA is signed we will develop a Statement of Work (SOW) for each part of the project. The SOW will outline the expected timeline, special materials needed, and cost. We typically require 50% of the cost of the SOW, plus costs for any special materials needed, with the balance due upon completion.
4. Deliverables
We will typically send a scientific report every 2 weeks along with end of SOW reports. The scientific data for the SOW will be included in a specific, dedicated lab notebook that is part of the deliverables for the project. The SOW will list all of the deliverable data needed to reach the conclusion of the SOW.
5. Follow Up
On the successful completion of the project, or as part of the contract, you will have the option to move the assay into production either at your facility or using our complementary company, Arbor Assays, Inc. Depending on your needs there may be a charge for transferring processes and technologies to your facility or another manufacturing partner.
